Actor Sreenath Bhasi recently confirmed that he divorced his wife after eight years of marriage. Malayalam actor Sreenath Bhasi said that him and his wife Reethu Zachariah separated in 2024, adding that he currently stays with his parents.
Sreenath Bhasi spoke about his marital status during an interview with YouTube channel FTQ with host Rekha Menon. The interview was conducted to promote his upcoming film titled Avarachan and Sons.
“I never spoke about my separation until now. I am staying with my parents right now. Ever since I got divorced I have been living with my parents. Me and my wife separated in 2024. Not many people knew about it. Now everyone knows after this.” Said Bhasi about his marriage.
He went on to explain that things have been tough at home following the divorce. “After I fight with my father at home I use to go up the stairs and go upstairs. Tell myself that we can’t live with each other anymore. This isn’t going to work” Says Bhasi. “It is when I am climbing the stairs after fighting with my parents that I realize I cannot live without them. That was the toughest phase.”
The actor continued on by stating that he is currently enjoying life at the moment and living with his parents. “I am currently staying with my parents. I have been buying fish for them to do stuff at home. Right now I have kois at home and I bought them a dog too.” He added.
Sreenath Bhasi tied the knot to Reethu Zachariah in 2016. She is from Thiruvananthapuram. The couple first met while Bhasi was working as a VJ and hosting television shows. The two became friends and dated for nearly ten years before they got married.
Reethu used to work as a production assistant and helped Bhasi with some of the shows he was hosting as a VJ. The couple got married in 2016 in a low-key ceremony with the blessings of their families.
Avarachan and Sons is set to be directed by Thampi. The movie also stars actors such as Biju Menon and Ganapathi in pivotal roles. Grace Antony and Akhila Bhargavan play the female leads in the film. Actor Sreenath Bhasi is part of the film’s cast and announced his divorce while on an interview promoting the film.
Sreenath Bhasi is known for his performances in films such as Manjummel Boys, Kappela, and Bheeshma Parvam. Before starting his career in acting, he was a radio jockey at Red FM 93.5. He has also sung and worked as a video jockey.
For now, actor Sreenath Bhasi is staying with his parents. He elaborated that he is trying to live in the moment and enjoy his life. He has not gone into detail about the divorce or if there are any legal proceedings going on between him and his estranged wife.
