Allu Arjun and Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph met again in Mumbai recently and rumors about their association are gaining steam once again. The meeting was attended by screenwriter Arun Anirudhan, who is apparently tied to their rumored project. He took to social media to share pictures from the meeting with a caption that says it all.
Arun Anirudhan took to Instagram to share a collage of pictures clicked in Mumbai. These photos feature him along with Basil Joseph and writer Paulson Skaria. He also shared a snap of a black Range Rover with registration number that ends with 666, speculated to belong to Allu Arjun along with music from actor’s ‘Pushpa’ theme song.
Arun shared the collage with the caption ‘Iykyk.’ While he didn’t name-drop Allu Arjun in his post, netizens are quick on the internet and the hints were enough for fans and film trackers to pick up on.
Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph have been meeting often. Earlier this year, the Malayalam filmmaker was spotted at the wedding of Allu Arjun’s brother, Allu Sirish. In July, Basil also shared a mysterious post on social media with an ‘Icon’ cap sent along with music from Allu Arjun’s Arya 2, causing another wave of speculation.
Project Details
There has been no official confirmation of a film from Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph. Neither the actor nor the filmmaker has spoken about the reports confirming the same. Title, genre, expected cast, associated production house, and start of the shooting schedule are unknown at this point.
The speculated project that Basil Joseph is working on was earlier reported to be Shaktimaan that he was making with producer Manju Mangave. Arun Anirudhan had previously clarified that Shaktimaan was never presented in front of Allu Arjun, saying the film they are looking at with the actor is a different script.
Basil Joseph was asked about it in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. While he didn’t confirm anything about the project, he did hint that the talks are on. He confirmed in another interview that he has a script ready for Allu Arjun and they are only looking at discussions for now.
What Allu Arjun is working on right now
Allu Arjun is currently busy shooting Raaka with Atlee. The film will reportedly see immense use of CGI and VFX. This will be one of the biggest tech films of Allu Arjun’s career.
A first-look poster was released for Raaka and Allu Arjun can be seen sporting a beast avatar. Rumors are that he will play four different characters in four different looks and the film’s story will be based on parallel universes. Deepika Padukone will be seen as the female lead opposite him.
Post Raaka, Allu Arjun will team up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a project that is being tentatively titled AA23. Reports claim filming has begun for AA23 as a look test was held recently for the film.
