SS Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya has revealed more information about the filmmaker’s upcoming project with Mahesh Babu. He stated that there will be ‘crazy’ action sequences in the film and they are targeting the Oscars’ stunt category.
Speaking about SS Rajamouli’s film with Mahesh Babu, Karthikeya revealed this detail in an interview.
The project is still in its pre-production phase
Scheduled to be the first project with SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu, the film is titled SSMB29.
Reportedly being produced by KL Narayana under his Sri Durga Arts banner, Karthikeya said they are hoping to submit it to the Academy Awards for Best Stunts.
“We are working towards submitting it to Oscars for stunt category. The film will have crazy action,” said Karthikeya.
During February 2024, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that for the 2028 Oscars, a stunt design category will be introduced.

Last year in 2023, SS Rajamouli won an Oscar for Best Original Song for his musical blockbuster RRR.
‘Naatu Naatu’ won him the award at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony. The South Indian film became popular in the West for its commercial high-octane action sequences.
Mahesh Babu is a veteran Telugu actor with over two decades of experience in the industry.
Previously he has starred in successful movies like Pokiri, Srimanthudu, and Sarileru Neekevvaru to name a few.
It has been reported that his next movie with SS Rajamouli will be a large-scale globetrotting blockbuster.
