Prabhas’ Fauzi Reportedly Delayed to February 2027 as Post-Production Work Continues

Prabhas’ next period action drama Fauzi is said to be pushed from December 3, 2026 to February 2027. As per several reports, the film’s shooting schedule and delayed post-production work is leading to the possible delay.

Hanu Raghavapudi’s film was earlier announced to release theatrically across India on December 3, 2026. Last month Prabhas released the official poster of the film. He wrote alongside the poster, ‘Agyat Parva’ ENDS. #Fauzi on 3rd DEC 2026.’

Reports say that makers are now looking at February 2027 window for Fauzi’s release. “It will be deferred for sure. The team is going through the canned stuff again and they want to do a few corrections here and there. They want to release the film when the time is right,” a source close to the development told Report.

Adding further, the source continued, “Content is everything these days and when you have hundreds of crores riding on the film the makers don’t want to take any chances. To get an uncontested response from the audience they will fine-tune the film a little more. Prabhas has been consulted on the issue and he also has no problem with shifting the film’s release.”

The source further said, “If the film has a strong story, nothing should come in between.”
As per reports Prabhas will be completing his shoot for the film soon, but there are a few other scenes which need to be filmed. It is said that since Fauzi is a heavy VFX film, post-production work is taking time, resulting in a shift in schedule.

February 2027 has been touted to be the ideal window as it offers a clear window at the box office. It also means that the film won’t clash with Prabhas’ project with Sandeep Reddy Vanga – Spirit, which is now set to release on March 2027. A release on Republic Day 26 January 20 27 was also being considered but the festive season that year could be crowded with several big films releasing on Sankranti which will not work in favour of the distribution.

Netflix has acquired the digital rights of Fauzi and negotiations are being held on an updated streaming schedule and windowing after its theatrical run.
