Ajith Kumar’ trailer for his motorsport documentary Gladiators: In Pursuit of Challenges was released theatrically on 6 September 2026. In the four-minute long trailer, fans get a glimpse of actor Ajith’ personal life along with scenes from his motorsport adventures. In the trailer, Ajith’ wife, former actress Shalini and their children Anoushka and Aadvik appear together. Shalini makes her first appearance after nearly 20 years on screen while Aadvik makes his debut.
Gladiators sees Ajith taking on professional motorsport including endurance racing and racing internationally. The documentary is directed by AL Vijay, produced by Shalini Ajith Kumar under banner Golden Trophy Film Production and music was scored by GV Prakash Kumar.
Ajith’ motorsport documentary trailer will screen at selected theatres in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry at 6:40 PM on September 6. Following the screening, fans were seen cheering and clapping as soon as the star appeared on screen. Premiere events for the trailer were held around the world including screenings in Malaysia and the United States of America.
The Gladiators trailer opens with Ajith talking about endurance racing and the kind of challenges that come along with it. Footage from Ajith’ high-speed races along tracks are intertwined with personal interviews conducted by his family members and his racing team members including ex-Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan.
Ajith’ wife Shalini talks about why he races. In the trailer she says, “Everyone knows him as an actor. But people close to him know that he is a person who goes after his dreams and follows his passion. He didn’ racing to bring another trophy home. He returned for those few seconds that feeling of ‘nothing is impossible’ moment.”
Shalini also speaks about how the family view Ajith’ motorsport journey. “I have never seen him had scared of failure. He never had an expectation of overnight success,” she adds.
Ajith’ daughter Anoushka talks about spending time with dad while Akadvik talks about sitting inside Ajith’ racing car for the first time. Akadvik says he was shocked to see how easily dad drove.
Ajith chimes in to give his review on racing. “Its a beautiful sport. I love it,” he says .
Fans also get a glimpse of international motorsport circuits from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia and European countries in the trailer.
Ajith competes through his racing team Ajith Kumar Racing which he founded in 2024.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has certified the trailer with a U/ A certification. The trailer’ runtime is 3 minutes and 49 seconds while the final runtime of the documentary is said to be 91 minutes.
Music composer GV Prakash Kumar who worked on the documentary announced that the original soundtrack for Gladiators titled Born to RACE will be released soon. In a press statement, he wrote, “Thank you so much for the love and response you all have given to the background score of #GladiatorsMovie. It belongs to Ajith fans only.”
Gladiators is directed by AL Vijay who previously helmed films such as Deiva Thirumagal, Saivam, among others. The documentary is set to release worldwide in November 2026. The official date is yet to be announced.
